A classic of the Dolomites tour starting from Selva is the Passo Sella, Canazei, Passo Carezza, Tires, Castelrotto and Ortisei. But also Val Gardena, Corvara, Campolongo Pass, Pordoi and Passo Sella.
On the pass road to the Passo Sella you experience the Dolomites from their most beautiful side, right next to the track rise the vertical cliffs of the Sellastock. Directly on the Sellajoch you have a panoramic view of the Sella and the Sassolungo group, the Val Gardena and Val di Fassa. Canazei is the first village in Val di Fassa overlooking the Marmolada. From Vigo di Fassa turn right to Karerpass and Karersee. The scenery of Latemar and Rosengarten is the hallmark of the natural phenomenon of Lake Karer. The light dolomitic rock on the lake bottom gives the lake its clarity, through the Eggental it then goes towards Völs, Seis and Kastelruth with a view of the Schlern. About the Panider saddle you come back to Val Gardena.
Very nice hike which leads over the Passo Sella on the Friedrich-August-path to the mountain hut Sasso Piatto. Return via Monte Pana.
From Selva di Val Gardena you reach the Passo Sella in the following way: take the Ciamponoi cable car and follow the marked path 21 to the Comici hut and continue on the marked path 526 to the Passo Sella. As an alternative, you can also use the bus, which you can use for free with the Mobilcard.
The hike leads from the Sella Pass over the marked path 557, past the Saleihütte to the Friedrich-August-Hütte. From here, the path to the Plattkofelhütte is pretty even with few small slopes.
Take the marked trail 527 past the marmot hut under the rock walls of the Plattkofel past the Piz da Uridl to the crossroads where you take the marked path 525 down through the forest to the marked forest road 30 and turn right to Monte Pana. Here you can take the chairlift or walk to St. Christina and return by bus or hike on foot over the old railway line to Wolkenstein.
For experienced hikers also starting directly from the Astor on foot - for runners: see www.saslong.run
Drive over the 4 Dolomites passes by bike: Passo Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Passo Sella. A total of 60 kilometres and 1860 metres up. It's more comfortable with the e-bike or using the cable cars.
This tour has written the history of the road bike. Even today, the local population lives the memory of the racing bike tradition over the Dolomites. Professional cyclist Fasto Coppi, nicknamed Campionissimo, dominated the steep ascents and winding descents like no other in the 1950s, on gravel roads. Today, bus travelers, motorcyclists and cyclists have to share the road. Once a year, the 'Grande Giro delle Dolomiti' route is closed to motorized traffic and is fully available to cyclists. Otherwise, it is advisable to start this tour at the beginning of the season or at the end of the season in order to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Dolomites away from the main tourist periods.
Our house is a partner of the Bikehotels Dolomites and therefore you enjoy special conditions for the rental of bikes and e-bikes
Enjoy a leisurely stroll, shop for gifts or just enjoy a cappuccino in one of the many cafes of Selva.
At the Tourist Office Wolkenstein you pass the main road, then the Gardena Pass, until you reach the house "S. Elisabeta ". Walk along the stream along the valley until you reach "Plan", where you cross the main road at the bus stop. You are now on the former railway. Turn left behind the Wolkenstein ski school after about 100 m and walk to the Langental. At the New Year's Eve Chapel, turn left again and follow the Way of the Cross to the hamlet of "Daunëi". The descent begins at the children's playground, past several farmsteads. Walk towards the town center and finally return to the starting point.
Not only a must have for every amateur photographer. Ascent with 2 different cable cars starting in Ortisei up to 2500 metres above sea level reaching the top of Seceda.
The Seceda Alm is located on the sunny side of Gröden, at the foot of the Cisles - Odle Nature Park, and is an ideal starting point for hiking and climbing tours in the Geisler Group.
The panorama that you can enjoy from the top includes the Dolomites and all mountains of South Tyrol - from the Ortler to the Grossglockner.
The Gardena Card is valid from June to October and allows the use of many lifts. The prices and included lift facilities can be found here www.gardenacard.com
Nearby is the ice rink Pranives where you can ice skating. A little refreshment and a little luxury to have "winter fun" even in summer.
Doing disco music or spending an afternoon differently ... Ice skating is always fun, returning with a smile to your childhood or giving your kids a treat to "walk on ice"
You can rent ice skates on site.
Glide up with the cable car early in the morning to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then we recommend the beautiful hike to Puez and back into Vallunga. Start directly on foot in front of the Astor!
Starting from the Astor Suites, you can comfortably reach the valley station Dantercepies in about 10 minutes. From the mountain station (2,298 m) you hike over the marked trail 12A over meadows and directly under the Cirspitzen in 20 minutes to the Jimmy hut (2,222 m). From here, take a gentle zig-zag path (# 2) up the Ciriprice to Cirjoch. From here you first go downhill (about 100 Hm) then on a zig-zag path to Crespeinajoch (2,528 m).
From Crespeinajoch, follow the comfortable path (number 2 Dolomitenhöhenweg) for a short while down to Crespeinasee. In 2 hours you arrived at the Puezhütte. After the deserved stop at the Puezhütte, where you will find the Langental and Selva Val Gardena, the Sassolungo, the Seiseralm and the Schlern, you can comfortably hike along the marked trail no. 2/16 in about 2.5 hours through the Langental to the Astor Suites.
In the morning, a short hike or jogging in Vallunga is ideal. Start with hiking or running shoes right in front of the Astor!
The Langental is a popular place, surrounded by Stevia, Puez and Ciastel de Chedul. The air here is always fresh and in the morning you can watch the wildlife while jogging very well and enjoy.
From the Astor Suites it is up to "Pra da Ri" (large meadow in the almost distant Langental) and back about 14 km. You can also extend the route and walk across the Way of the Cross to the hamlet Daunëi and back to the Astor Suites.
Why not even experience the Dolomites from the air? The helicopter port is 12 kilometres away.
The heart beats loudly as the helicopter rises above the landscape. Experience impressive helicopter flights over the Dolomites and the South Tyrolean mountains. Popular tourist destinations are the Schlern, Rosengarten, Sella Group, Plattkofel, Langkofel, Puez, Geissler and the Marmolada.
An experience that will be remembered for a long time to come ... enjoy a sunrise on Seura Sass at 2,150 or Stevia at 2,500 metres above sea level - experience the unique red colors of the Dolomites at sunset in the autumn - and also with the host!
Stevia: from the Astor Suites we drive with private cars to the Daunëi car park and take a leisurely walk along the marked path 17 / A (Palota) to the summit cross on the Steviola (about 1.5 hours). Here we wait for the sun to rise or set and enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the Val Gardena and the Dolomites Puez, Cirspitzen, Sellagruppe, Sellajoch, Langkofelgruppe, Seiseralm, Raschötz, Seceda. We can go back the same way or we walk 10 minutes further to the crossroads, from here we go over the Sylvesterscharte / Wegnr. 17 down and reach, after leisurely 45 min. Descent, over a beautiful serpentine panorama trail and later forest, the Juac hut.
Sëura Sass: Starting point, which we reach with private cars is the parking Praplan. Here we follow the marked path 20 - for about 1.5 hours always rising at the Sëura Sass - hut over. Here we still have a very steep pass until we reach the level below the Pic Mountain. After a few minutes we are at the summit cross, from where we have a unique view over the whole Val Gardena. If the colors of sunrise and sunset color the Dolomites, this hike will be unique and unforgettable.
